What would I want for Christmas? The possibilities are endless. Perhaps the correct answer is the classic wish: peace on earth and goodwill toward mankind.
Dr.
Christopher once said, "We will never have peace as long as we have constipated warriors seated around a peace table." It's a humorous yet profound statement. But how can we truly have goodwill toward mankind when sickness is so profitable for so many?
Imagine a world where warmongers started their day with Dr. Christopher’s Lower Bowel
Formula. Wouldn’t that be marvelous? And what if his health teachings were universally embraced? That could pave the way for good health and goodwill.
Unfortunately, the reality is far from ideal. Our food supply is riddled with harmful substances that contribute to widespread illness. My family and I avoid highly processed foods, but many
people simply don’t have the time or resources to dig into what they’re eating. Instead, they rely on taste and bright packaging. It would take volumes to explore the full scope of this issue, but I’ll highlight just one example from the thousands of toxic additives lurking in our food supply.
Take tartrazine, for instance. This substance has an
unsettling origin: it began as a coal industry byproduct used to pave roads, was later refined into a dye for clothing, and is now synthesized from petroleum to create a food dye. It shows up in processed products like Twinkies, Mountain Dew, Gatorade, Sunny D, Kool-Aid, Popsicles, Starburst, candy corn, M&Ms, Cap’n Crunch, Lucky Charms, and pre-packaged pasta mixes.
In many countries—Europe, Japan, and even Canada—foods containing tartrazine are banned. Why? Studies link it to hyperactivity in children and ADHD in adults, among other concerns. It takes just 50 milligrams—roughly the amount in one serving of Kool-Aid Burst Cherry—to trigger noticeable effects. Companies could easily use natural dyes like paprika, but those lack the shelf life that fuels their profits. Beyond hyperactivity, tartrazine is linked to DNA damage and
cancer.
I’ve been raising the alarm about this toxin, known to my teenage hippy self as Yellow 5, for decades.
In my 75 years, the closest I’ve come to getting all I want for Christmas is
the prospect of a leader who could truly pave the way for a healthy environment—one where people are free to choose health and are not coerced into consuming poisons.
This dream feels closer than ever with the potential nomination of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as Secretary of Health. In this role, he would oversee the FDA, CDC, and all health
agencies. A thorough "house cleaning" of these organizations has been my wish for decades.
May your Christmas wishes come true. Have a Merry Christmas!
