In the “Do’s” section of Dr. Christopher’s Mucusless Diet he recommends daily supplements, one of them being “one tablespoon of a good, fresh wheat germ oil three times a day.” Wheat germ oil is pressed from the innermost part of the wheat grain, from the wheat germ, and it takes approximately
10 kilograms of wheat to obtain 1 liter of oil. The function of the germ is to grow new life and therefore contains essential nutrients for that purpose. These essential nutrients are also extremely beneficial to our health.
If you look up the benefits of wheat germ oil you will find that it is an antioxidant,
inhibits the growth of bacteria, has anti-inflammatory properties, strengthens the immune system, lowers cholesterol, helps increase blood flow and has the highest amount of vitamin E. It has a 5 to 1 ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids where the Western diet has a ratio of 25 to 1 (or higher) of omega-6 to omega-3’s. Omega-3 fatty acids are helpful in heart disease, arrhythmia, lowering blood pressure, and easing
inflammation. Our bodies are unable to produce omega-3 and omega-6, they must be consumed in food. If you are taking wheat germ oil, you are getting your omega-3 and omega-6’s in a proper ratio. This is why it is so important to supplement with a good, high quality
wheat germ oil every day.
A study printed in the Journal of Translational Medicine found that omega-3 fatty acids had a positive impact in improving the productive and reproductive hormones. Dr. Christopher recommended taking wheat germ oil in addition to his Hormonal Changease and Female Reproductive
Formulas, as this gives all the nutrients necessary for the body to build the hormones needed in the correct ratio for each stage of life. Wheat germ oil is important for both male and female when trying to conceive. For one couple trying to conceive, Dr. Christopher recommended 2 tablespoons of wheat germ oil 3 times a day coupled with the Mucusless Diet and the False Unicorn and Lobelia Formula. It worked beautifully and the couple was blessed with multiple children.
I have been taking wheat germ oil daily, and it is not the most pleasant tasting of the Mucusless Diet supplements. I take my spoonful of molasses right after the wheat germ oil to chase it down. I am getting used to it; however, it is also available in capsules if
you just can’t stand the taste. It can also be included in sauces or drizzled on salad, but do not cook with it as it has a very low heat point.
Many people have asked if individuals with celiac disease or gluten intolerance can use wheat germ oil. It is highly unlikely that any of the gluten from wheat
makes it through the extraction process. However, it is produced in facilities that also produce wheat, so it is best to test with small amounts. We have had students with celiac disease report that they have been able to use wheat germ oil without an issue.
If you haven’t added wheat germ oil to your
daily “supplement” intake, start now! This nutrient rich oil will help with overall general health and is a fantastic boost for anyone with reproductive system issues.
