If you are reading this newsletter, you survived COVID 19 as did 99.9x% of the population. Those that did not
survive were, categorically, aged with co-morbid conditions. What saved all survivors was their individual immune systems. Every single person has been or will be exposed to this infection. The strength and health of each individual’s immune system will determine the severity and duration of infection, and post infection longevity of immunity.
A healthy immune system is created and maintained with healthy food choices, as is constantly explained and emphasized in this newsletter. Non-adherence can result in vitamin and mineral deficiencies which weakens the immune system. Taking nutrients to correct the deficiency will help but can take time to build up needed amounts. That is when herbs
are needed in aiding and strengthening immune response.
The first herb most people are familiar with is echinacea, which was the most popular herb at the turn of the 19th to
20th centuries. It became a cure all and helped thousands of people. In the 1920’s scientists analyzed and tested the components of this plant and discovered no benefits. Even though the population’s personal usages were effective, they trusted the science of the day and stopped using echinacea products. In the 1970’s American sales of echinacea were close to non-existent, even though it is native to North America. However, it was still being harvested and sold annually by the ton to
Germany for decades. German scientists had discovered that echinacea was a cure all because it strengthened and stimulated the immune system. With this new knowledge echinacea is again one of the top selling herbs in the United States.
Astragalus has been used in Chinese medicine for thousands of years to support “Wei Qi” or defensive medicine, in our terminology, immune system support. It is classified as a tonic or by the newer term adaptogen. This classification indicates that these herbs help the system adapt and move toward health, whether it is deficient or overactive. Astragalus promotes phagocytosis and all other aspects of the inflammatory or non-specific immune
response. It also supplies antioxidants and encourages the body to create superoxide dismutase.
Reishi, known medicinally for over two thousand years, is the top selling medicinal mushroom and is
widely cultivated in Asia with over eight hundred research articles lauding its benefits. Reishi mushrooms retard viral growth, activate immune function, help protect against free radicals and tissue damage, inhibit tumor growth, benefit the lungs, improve energy, relieve pain, and even relieve symptoms of anxiety, insomnia, and depression. The Dr. Christopher Immune System Formula combines echinacea, astragalus, and reishi with the endurance benefits of Siberian ginseng (now known as eleuthero) for a truly synergistic and wonderful immune strengthening tonic. Follow directions on the label to use as a
preventative.
Once the virus infects a person, then the best Dr. Christopher formulas to aid the body’s defenses are the Infection
Formula (X-INF-X) and the Super Garlic Immune Formula. Both aid the body in destroying the virus and in the quick recovery from the disease. A personal example: Fifty years ago, I was sick in bed for two weeks suffering with the flu, with no relief in sight. This was before the Super Garlic Immune Formula was sold commercially. An herbalist friend made it in her home and brought it to me. I consumed the entire 4-ounce bottle that day and was fully recovered and back at work the next day. My immune system remembered this infection and has protected me from the flu for 50 years, without yearly vaccines.
I am totally sold on natural immunity and extremely skeptical of experimental biologics. May your immunity be strong
and healthy for your entire life.
