A new year deserves to begin with hope. I hope the good news in this article helps you to be prepared and filled with hope and tranquility.
This good news hopefully prepares you for the bad news this year, which is the new Covid-19 Omicron variant. This new variant is extremely communicable and spreads quickly through society.
The head of the South African medical association, who first revealed the genome of the virus and whose country has been dealing with this Covid strain the longest, has assured us that although it is more transmissible it is also less virulent and very mild. 1 As of December 13, 2021, after four weeks of dealing with the variant, only 420
out of 6,200 patients hospitalized were in intensive care units. These are nationwide numbers in a country of sixty million people.
In Denmark, with very accurate genomic testing data, we find that in just two weeks, the Omicron variant went from 1 case to 581. On December 13, 2021, 1,843 of 2,471 cases were fully vaccinated; 60 had received their first dose; 234 had been revaccinated; 334 had not been vaccinated. Of the 2,471
cases, only 27 people were hospitalized. The Omicron variant is very mild.2 These findings clearly show that vaccinations do not stop reinfection from the Omicron variant.
Natural Immunity looks more promising. As reported in the New England Journal of Medicine, 353,000 unvaccinated people who were infected with and recovered from Covid-19 were tracked and only 0.4 percent were reinfected, with zero deaths. 3
To prepare for this weakened virus, we should continue practicing good hygiene, eating fresh produce, staying away from junk food, and following the example of India. With its large population and limited resources (5% vaccination rate), government officials in India sent treatment kits to families. These treatment kits contained Vitamin D, Vitamin C,
Vitamin B, Zinc, a thermometer, a pulse oximeter (to measure oxygen levels), Doxycycline (we would substitute garlic, golden seal, etc.), Ivermectin (we would substitute wormwood). 4 India was having a surge of Covid deaths and reversed the surge with their kits. They now have one of the lowest Covid death rates in the world.
So, the bad news is another Covid-19 variant is coming, but the good news is that it could be the answer to stopping this pandemic. Our leaders could do this by:

Providing the same kits as used in India (cost $2.65 per person).

Stop spending hundreds of billions of dollars forcing vaccines on everyone.

Allowing for the free flow of natural health care education, so everyone does not rush to the hospitals for viral care.

Open society so we can all be exposed to this mild variant, thus achieving herd immunity for at least 17 years and hopefully a lifetime.
Perhaps, we should all mingle indoors, bring back the mistletoe, expose ourselves to this mild variant, gain immunity and rid ourselves of this pandemic.

Black Bean and Sweet Potato Salad

Robin Robertson, Quick-fix Vegan: Healthy, Homestyle Meals in 30 Minutes or Less
2 sweet potatoes, peeled and diced
1 ½ cups home-cooked black beans
½ cup chopped yellow bell pepper
1/3 cup chopped pecans (toasted if liked)
¼ cup chopped fresh cilantro or parsley
1 hot chile, seeded and minced (optional)
2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice
2 teaspoons agave nectar, honey or maple syrup
¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Steam the sweet potatoes over boiling water until just tender, about 15 minutes. While the potatoes are cooking, in a large bowl, combine the beans, bell pepper, pecans, onion, celery, cilantro, and chile, if using, and set aside.
In a small bowl, combine the oil, lime juice, agave, salt, cumin, coriander, and pepper. Pour the dressing over the salad. Add the sweet potatoes and toss gently to combine. Taste and adjust the seasonings. Serve at once, or cover and refrigerate until needed.
